Dave's passion for live music began in the mid-1980s when he was first introduced to rock and heavy metal. He was transfixed in an instant. It was at school that he formed his first band, but it wasn't until the early 1990s that he turned semi-professional, performing as a bassist in various cover bands before joining circuit stalwart Mickey Flynn to form the duo 'The Blues Machine'. For several years, Dave toured for 3-4 nights per week, mainly across London's pub/club music circuit. Keen to diversify musically, he began a project as a solo vocalist, and then moved again to form his own duo - this time as singer / guitarist together with acclaimed vocalist Jayne Tretton.

Dave also  hosted and compéred a successful and popular fortnightly Open Mic night in his home town of St Neots, Cambs for ten years, and regularly played host to some well-known musicians including members of Jamiroquai, Gang of Four and Deep Purple.

Two years later, Dave once again embarked on a solo career; this time going back to his rock and heavy metal roots, performing as 'Wiggy's Rock Show'.

This show ran for around ten years, and on several occasions he both compéred and performed at national music festivals. Dave is currently reviving a reworked and updated version of this show for 2024.
